Lisa Marie Receives Grammy Honor for Elvis & Makes Holiday Visit to Graceland

The world at large won't hear much about it until the Grammy Awards telecast in early 2000, but another Elvis recording has been honored with a Grammy Hall of Fame* induction.
Elvis' chart-topping 1969 recording of Suspicious Minds now joins his other Hall of Fame recordings: Hound Dog (inducted 1988), Heartbreak Hotel (inducted 1995) and That's All Right (inducted 1998).
The special advance presentation of the honor was made on December 15 when the Memphis chapter of the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (NARAS) had their Christmas party at Elvis Presley's Memphis restaurant on Beale Street.
Lisa Marie Presley attended the party and accepted the honor on behalf of her father.
Among the entertainers at the NARAS party was Lisa's companion , singer John Oszajca.

Lisa was in Memphis for several days visiting with family, friends and the Graceland staff.
For the second year in a row she brought her two children to spend some private after-hours time at Graceland during the holiday season.
Also for the second time, she attended the annual Christmas party that the Graceland staff has for the children of Goodwill Homes, a charity that Elvis supported for many years, and she attended the Graceland employee Christmas party.
Lisa also visited the downtown property that will be the site for Presley Place, the transitional housing facility for homeless families that will be built in 2000.
Presley Place will be funded by the Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation and will be the newest development of the outstanding Estival Communities program created and managed by the Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association (MIFA) in Memphis.

*The Grammy Hall of Fame recognizes "recordings of lasting qualitative or historical significance" with many inductees being recordings that were created and released before the 1958 inception of NARAS and the Grammy Awards. Grammy Hall of Fame inductee recordings are sometimes announced on the awards telecast, but w ithout formal presentation/acceptance.

(John Oszajca on stage) I attended a party last night (12/15/99)in Memphis at the Elvis Presley's Memphis Restaurant. Lisa Marie was there with her children Benjamin and Danielle, and her boyfriend, John Oszajca was the entertainment. John did a phenomenol job and Lisa looked great with a hot pink sequined skirt, black top with a bare midriff, and her hair streaked and in little pigtail braids. MICHAEL JACKSON destroyed his friendship with ex-wife

that Lisa told him ELVIS had a nose job.
Lisa is so furious with Michael for breaking her confidence
that she's stopped taking his calls and is vowing never
to speak to him again!
Michael didn't realize his casual remark about her father
would upset Lisa and quickly sent her 100 of her favorite
peach-colored long-stem roses as a peace offering.
But she refused to accept the delivery!
Michael is so distraught over the thought of losing access
to Lisa that he's leaning on
ELIZABETH TAYLOR to intervene on his behalf.

but John prefers hanging out with his musician buddies at home.

but she senses he's not having a good time.
Lisa's disappointed that the man of her dreams has
turned out to be a couch potato, and now they're both working
to find a compromise.

What about the plastic surgery?
-All of Hollywood has plastic surgery! I don't know why they point me out. The press exagerated it. It's just to my nose. They want it to be everything. Just the nose isn't enough. Elvis had his nose done Lisa Marie told me. They don't talk about that. They singled me out. It's not fair.

OK, well, now that you bring up Lisa Marie, I read that she said she regrets not having had your son and that she may still want to have a child with you. Is that true?
-I remember that's how she felt at the time [laughs]. No matter what I say, I'm in trouble with this question. The next issue of TV Guide will probably say "Well, Lisa said she doesn't ever want to see him again!"

Are you two friends now?
-Lisa's sweet. I like her very much and we are friends. And who knows what tomorrow brings? I have no idea how she feels today. I'll just say that. She comes to my house and sees the children, and we talk on the phone, that sort of thing.

Do you think you will marry again?
-That would be nice.

What would make the third time the charm?
-It just has to hit me. You have to see that person and go, "This is it. This is the one."

Did you feel that way with both of your marriages?
-Yeah. Of course.

LISA MARIE PRESLEY has packed on pounds -- and she's not pregnant!
Elvis' daughter is so in love with her new beau she's given up the grueling diet and exercise regimen that kept her supermodel-svelte while married to Michael Jackson.
Now she's chowing down on pizza, fast-food feasts and rich gourmet meals with musician boyfriend John Oszajca -- and when the two waltzed into a Beverly Hills bash, tongues wagged that the bloated beauty was expecting.
"Lisa Marie knows what people are saying, but she's happy with the way she looks," says aninsider.
"She's usually so thin that people notice immediately when she packs on extra pounds.
"And whenever she gains weight, it touches off talk that another Elvis grandchild might be on the way."
But The ENQUIRER has learned that's not the case.
"Lisa Marie has just given up those supermodel diets," the insider said. "She's not doing any heavy-duty workouts and she's eating what she wants.
"Lisa Marie told a friend: 'Things are great in my life right now. I'm happy and in love. And I've realized that I don't have to go on a mega-diet to feel good about myself.'
"The truth is Lisa Marie looks great. She's the perfect example that you don't have to be rail- thin to be beautiful."
Just three years ago, 5-foot-3 Lisa Marie slimmed down to a svelte 105 pounds thanks to plastic surgery and an exhausting exercise and diet program.
She had a breast lift and liposuction on her thighs, plus laser surgery on her face.
The 31-year-old mother of two also put herself on a near-starvation diet of 900 calories per day and worked out daily with a personal trainer.
But that routine went out the window when she started dating Oszajca, a 25-year-old alternative rocker, earlier this year.
Now she's hovering around 125 pounds.
Lisa Marie told a family insider that she and John pig out on the finest foods and go to fast- food joints with her kids.
When she looks in the mirror, she realizes she's got to get back into an exercise routine, the family insider said.
"She's been neglecting that because she's been having such a good time. John jokes about liking her plump."
That's a far cry from her days as Mrs. Michael Jackson.
"When Lisa Marie was married to Michael, he liked her to be as painfully thin as he was," said the family insider.
"If she started putting on weight, Michael would panic and tell her to lose it. Lisa Marie was so smitten with Michael that she listened to him.
"She watched what she ate and exercised regularly.
"She said recently that she's glad that nightmare's over and she can eat what she wants. If she gained a few pounds when Michael was around, it gave him the horrors."
While Lisa Marie plumps up, her rocker beau stays matchstick-thin.
"John is one of those lucky people who can eat anything," said a Hollywood insider.
"Unfortunately, Lisa Marie inherited her father's genes.
"But John doesn't seem to mind.
"He told me, 'As far as I'm concerned, she's the most gorgeous creature to ever walk the face of the earth.
" 'We're having so much fun with each other and Lisa Marie's kids that those things just aren't a priority.' "

Jackson divorcing second wife

LOS ANGELES - After three years of marriage and two children, Michael Jackson and his second wife filed for divorce Friday, a spokesman said.
The couple ''mutually agreed to end their marriage,'' Howard J. Rubenstein said. Neither Jackson, 41, nor his wife, Debbie Rowe Jackson, would be making any statements, he said.
Jackson married his wife, who was a nurse for one of his doctors, in November 1996, the same year he and Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of Elvis Presley, ended their two-year marriage.
The couple have two children: Paris Michael Katherine, born in April 1998, and Prince, born in February 1997.
